This modern new home in Boulder features multiple zones of sonos audio, video distribution, lighting and shading control and surveillance system. All of these systems are available via the ProControl app on the iPad which is held securely and charged by the Launchport magnetic on-wall docking station. The hand held remote is a second interface for simple tactile control of the video and other systems in the living room. All of the equipment is housed in a neat, organized central rack in the laundry room. The rack can be pulled out and rotated for service or tucked back into the cabinet during normal operation. The high performance network and wifi system can be monitored and upgraded remotely via the cloud.

This home features Lutron lighting control, HAI security and HVAC, distributed audio and video and centralized equipment. We cleaned up miles of wiring, reorganized and reprogrammed the entire system after several years of other companies failed attempts to get the system working. We created 3 iPad interfaces with custom programming that run the entire home via the RTI control system. The iPads have Launchport magnetic wall mounts with inductive charging and there's one on each floor. The master bedroom features two TV's: one for the sitting area, and one that drops out of the ceiling with a motorized lift. The home has 14 TVs and a projection theater that can access any of the satellite receivers, blu-ray player, security cameras, and audio sources located in the basement equipment racks. The intuitive RTI control system provides feedback to the user letting them know which sources are in use elsewhere in the home and which sources are available. The 25 zone ada audio system has access to 6 Directv satellite receivers, Blu-ray player, SONOS connect, Apple TV, and airport express via AirPlay. The system can be controlled from in-wall keypads, RTI T2C remote controls, and any one of the iPads.
We recently completed this av installation in a new build for Morningstar Homes. The home features Lutron RadioRa2 lighting control, SONOS whole-home audio with Totem Acoustic in-ceiling speakers, and structured wiring for high-speed network and cable systems with upgraded wifi access points. The family room has a 60" Samsung 4K UHDTV and SONOS 5.1 channel surround system utilizing their PLAYBAR, SUB, and a CONNECT:AMP connected to a pair of Totem Acoustic in-ceiling speakers. Control of the av systems and lighting control is accomplished via an RTI T2X universal controller and iOS apps. All of the equipment is hidden out of site in a rack that can pull out and rotate for ease of access and service. Sources include Xfinity X3 DVR client, Blu-ray Disc, and Apple TV. SONOS media players were an ideal choice for this home because they use digital amplifiers which run cooler, use less energy, and are more efficient than traditional analog amplifiers. The exterior entertaining areas feature SONOS whole-house audio and in-ceiling speakers from Totem Acoustic.
In the family room we added a 60" Samsung 4K ultra HDTV, and SONOS Playbar with wireless sub and in-ceiling surround speakers. Shutze Studio built a custom cabinet to hide the TiVo, Apple TV, and CONNECT:AMPs running the other zones of audio throughout the house. The master bedroom features a plasma over the fireplace and another PLAYBAR, TiVo, and Apple TV remotely located and controlled via IR repeater. BEFORE: The master suite had a mess of wiring and unsuited equipment. AFTER We cleaned up the audio and video wiring for the master suite and reduced the equipment needed with more SONOS audio products. We installed 2 zones of SONOS home audio in this north Boulder home updating their sound system. We added a 5 channel wireless surround sound system to the living room with the SONOS Playbar and a pair of Play:1's for rear speakers. Pictured is a stereo pair of Play:3's for the sunroom. The zones can be grouped together through the intuitive user interface on iOS and android devices. We removed a substantial mess of old wiring and obsolete equipment to the homeowners delight.
We were called in to provide a simple, cost effective solution to this homeowners failing Control4 system. We removed the control processor, multiple room boxes, audio matrix, outdated component video matrix, and tons of obsolete wiring. We replaced it with SONOS connect music players, A ProControl universal remote for the media room, and localized DirecTV boxes for the other 3 TVs in the home. The homeowners are overjoyed with the simplicity, cleanliness, and superior function of the new system. This is what the system looked like before we arrived and is unfortunately what "the other guys" left them with. The family room features a Sony 65" 4K Ultra HDTV with 5.1ch surround, Lutron motorized roller shades and lighting control. All the equipment is stored out of sight and controlled easily by an RTI T2X universal remote and iOS devices. In collaboration with Mosaic Architects and Morningstar Homes in Boulder we updated the home with SONOS whole home audio, structured wiring, multiple wall mounted flat screens, Lutron lighting control, and more. Every system in the home is brand new and optimized for quality, design, and function.
Step one: locate pre-wired speaker location and cut a 16"x12" hole centered on trusses. Step two: install one Stealth Acoustics LR6g 2-way invisible speaker. This panel features and 6.5" low frequency driver and a 1" high frequency driver. Step three: play your SONOS CONNECT:AMP or any other source and test that it works. Step four: Tape and mud seams like a standard drywall patch. Step five: Sand and paint. You now have high quality sound without any visible clutter. Step six: Do the same in your dining room. Replacing those common round in-ceiling speakers with invisible speakers. And your family room. Fill your home with clear, high quality sound with zero visible equipment. The basement lounge features a new Samsung UN65F9000 4K ultra HD smart TV. The audio is a 5.1CH setup featuring Totem Arros and Dreamcatcher center up front and Lynx dipole/bipole surrounds. At the heart if the system is an Onkyo TX-NR929 9.2CH surround receiver, Comcast HD DVR, Panasonic Blu-ray, XBOX 360 and XBOX ONE. Everything is easily controlled via the RTI T2X 2-way RF touchscreen remote. The gym utilizes the powered zone 2 speaker output from the Onkyo reciever and zone 2 HDMI video output to share the sources from the lounge yet operate independently. An RTI SurfiR RF remote operates all the gear back in the closet. The master bedroom and living room feature Samsung UN46F8000 smart HDTV's streaming wireless HD video with a Peerless HDS200 wireless HD media system. The cable box and wireless transmitter are hidden away out of site and the wireless receiver lives in a box recessed behind the ultra slim flat panel TV. The master bath shares the cable box with the master bed through an additional Peerless wireless HD receiver. Each system can stream up to four wireless receivers all running at 720p simultaneously. The remodeled kitchen features high performance Episode in-ceiling speakers powered by SONOS. We pre-wired three zones of audio in this historic Boulder home along with 2 complete surround sound systems in the basements. All equipment is hidden out of sight in well organized racks and intuitive control is provided through iOS apps on multiple wireless devices. |
