This modern new home in Boulder features multiple zones of sonos audio, video distribution, lighting and shading control and surveillance system. All of these systems are available via the ProControl app on the iPad which is held securely and charged by the Launchport magnetic on-wall docking station. The hand held remote is a second interface for simple tactile control of the video and other systems in the living room.
All of the equipment is housed in a neat, organized central rack in the laundry room. The rack can be pulled out and rotated for service or tucked back into the cabinet during normal operation. The high performance network and wifi system can be monitored and upgraded remotely via the cloud.
This theater in Denver was retro fit into an existing finished basement. We were able to fish all of the wiring through soffits and the ceiling to accommodate the JVC DLA-RS4910 reference series projector, Episode 700 series 7.1 channel surround sound, and new Lutron lighting with all the source equipment located out of sight in the mechanical room. The entire project was completed in less than 5 days from start to finish.
The front wall had a jog in the corner so we layed out the approximate dimensions of the screen and woodwork to fabricate the new panels.
We then built a floating wall to flush out the remainder of the front wall and create the cabinet niche in the left hand side.
Next we installed the front left, center, and right in-wall speakers that live behind the 120" acoustically transparent screen. This provides the optimal experience as the speakers can be placed at ear level and audio comes from the exact spot as the video. We then installed the 10" powered subwoofer (bottom left) that creates the rumble for all those Sci-fi soundtracks. We also ran wiring for the new sconces at this stage.
The finishing touch is installing all the custom woodwork to really dress up the theater. The homeowner is still shopping for the perfect sconces that will flank the screen and be controlled via in-wall dimmer and the universal remote.
The equipment rack neatly houses all the gear and is located out of sight in the mechanical room. Everything is operated RF by the pro24r universal remote from Pro Control. The Integra DTR 50.6 receiver provides THX rated sound and OPPO BDP-S103D reference level blu-ray player provides stunning visuals.
This home features Lutron lighting control, HAI security and HVAC, distributed audio and video and centralized equipment. We cleaned up miles of wiring, reorganized and reprogrammed the entire system after several years of other companies failed attempts to get the system working. We created 3 iPad interfaces with custom programming that run the entire home via the RTI control system. The iPads have Launchport magnetic wall mounts with inductive charging and there's one on each floor.
The master bedroom features two TV's: one for the sitting area, and one that drops out of the ceiling with a motorized lift.
The home has 14 TVs and a projection theater that can access any of the satellite receivers, blu-ray player, security cameras, and audio sources located in the basement equipment racks. The intuitive RTI control system provides feedback to the user letting them know which sources are in use elsewhere in the home and which sources are available.
We designed and installed this basement projection theater in Boulder. Featuring a 120" acoustically transparent screen so that the front left, right, and center speakers can be placed at the ideal listening level directly behind the screen. It has 7.1 channel surround sound and 4K UHD video from the JVC DLA-RS4910 with Eshift3 technology.
We added 120 sqft of acoustical treatment to the room to obtain an ideal reverb time and create the unique aesthetic wall art. The micro suede panels were custom made to our specifications by ATS acoustics and are available in 23 fabric styles and colors or can be built with customer supplied fabric for the ultimate in design flexibility.
We added RGBW LED strips behind the panels that are controlled from the ProControl Pro24r universal remote so the homeowner can choose differerent colors and adjust the brightness easily. All of the source and control equipment is located out of sight in the mechanical room.
BEFORE: the room was under-utilized with a small flat-screen and training bike.
AFTER: the family loves their new custom theater and use it almost every night.
