Modern basement theater highlights beetle-kill pine and Totem Kin In-wall speakers

This dedicated media room features a 120″ screen and BenQ W1500 HD projector, 7.1CH surround, hidden equipment, and universal remote. Our interior designer worked with the homeowners to incorporate their taste and redo the attached bath as well. The walls are paneled in local beetle-kill pine.

We were able to retro-fit all the necessary wiring through the walls and ceiling without any additional holes. The screen is acoustically transparent so the front three channels and subwoofer were able to be mounted behind the screen for the cleanest possible look and unparalleled sound tracking with the video. The system utilizes Totem Kin In-walls for the front, Totem Mask in-ceiling for the rear, and the Totem Tribe dual 8″ in-wall sub. An Onkyo TX-NR 828 is at the heart of the system with the usual Apple TV, Sony Blu-ray, and Comcast HD DVR all organized neatly in the 21U rack in the closet.
